F.A.Q.

What Does Twisted River Grow?

Twisted River Farm grows and sells a wide variety of vegetables, microgreens, herbs, and flowers.

Is your produce organic?

While we are not “certified organic,” we believe in the principles and methods of organic production and we believe our products are superior to many certified “organic” . We grow using intensive rotation in combination with landscape fabrics and mechanical cultivation which eliminates the need for herbicides. For pest management, we rely on insect netting and quick crop rotations, so our products remain mostly pesticide free. Our microgreens products are grown indoors year-round which eliminate the need for any weed or pest management.

wHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO STORE YOUR PRODUCE?

Our salad greens and micro-greens should be refrigerated for optimal freshness. We recommend storing our basil on a counter away from direct sunlight (it typically lasts longer when stored DRY at 50 degrees Fahrenheit).

How big is your farm?

We’re small. Our farm is literally only 3 acre in size, with nearly a quarter acre under hoophouses. But don’t let our small size fool you, we produce a lot of food! Our crops were selected because of their small foot-print, their quick-growing nature, and their high demand…all of which work perfectly on our size farm!

Are your products available year-round?

Yes. Well, some of them. Currently our microgreens are the only produce we are able to grow year-round. Our series of hoophouses enable us to have some of our salad greens available for around 10 months of the year.

What’s the best way to use your produce?

There are so many ways you can enjoy our microgreens, salad greens, herbs, and fresh produce. We’ve compiled some of our favorite recipes to help you along! Click here
